Philips Announce Plans To Launch 3DTV 900 In Summer of 2010
3D TV Sets — By admin on February 25, 2010 at 4:23 amPhilips have announced plans to release a new TV with 3D-ready capabilities. The Philips 3DTV 9000 series will use Active 3D glasses which means each eye will be able to have the full 1080p experience. The LED backlighting has thousands of lights behind the screen for deeper contrast.
The 3DTV 9000 TV has 400Hz LCD screen with a 0.5ms response times which means that the viewer will be able to watch blur-free images. The TV will also come with inbuilt Wi-Fi to connect with online services via the television and a DLNA to connect to a personal computer.
Philips were initially confident that the 3D TV would not need to be watched with special 3D glasses, however, further testing from Philips found that viewers suffered from an uneasy experience without the glasses. Now the Philips range of 3D television sets will need to be used with shutter glasses.
The first to launch will be the LED Pro 9000 series in the summer. The 9000 series will be available in 32 inch, 40 inch and 46 inch.
There are no details as to the price of the Philips 3DTV 9000 series TVs.
