The Samsung UE40C7000 is the first 3D TV to go on sale in the UK. The 3D TV set is now on sale at the John Lewis flagship store on Oxford Street, London.
The standalone 40-inch 3D television will cost £1,800. If consumers buy the Blu-ray player and the 3D TV together then they will get two free pairs of 3D glasses thrown in.

John Kempner, buyer for vision at John Lewis says, “3D TV is an incredibly exciting technology, and once again John Lewis is first to market. Manufacturers like to use us as their launch partner because our customers are always early adopters of new technology.”
While John Lewis is the first store to sell 3D TV sets, Harrods are also taking pre-orders for the Sony 3D TV sets.
While there will not be a great deal of content to watch in 3D when the TV set is initially released, broadcasters such as BSkyB are already planning on launching a dedicated 3D TV channel.
There are already a number of 3D TV sets available to order in the United States, including, the Samsung UN46C7000 and the Samsung UN55C7000, however the UE40C7000 is the first that is available to buy directly in the UK.
