3D TV Set Compatibility Workaround: Wear 3D Glasses Upside Down
3D TV Accessories — By admin on May 5, 2010 at 7:17 am3D TV set manufacturers have already upset potential customers as consumers have realised that 3D glasses are not compatible with TV sets for manufacturers. However, there is now a workaround so that you can use Samsung 3D glasses with Panasonic TVs and vice versa.
If you want to use your Samsung glasses with a Panasonic 3D TV then simply put the glasses on upside down! This wacky workaround comes courtesy of Home Cinema Choice’s Steve May.
Both manufacturers’ glasses use polarising lenses, but both chose to put them into the frames the opposite way round.
“I successfully enjoyed 3DTV on a Panasonic model with upside-down Samsung glasses, and vice versa,” said HCC’s Steve May.
“Admittedly it wasn’t a very comfortable experience, and you do look stupider than normal trying it, but heck, this is what we’ve all been reduced to…”
There are already a few companies who are looking to produce universal 3D glasses, such as, Xpand. There are also glasses that will automatically detect when you are wearing 3D glasses or not and change the picture based on what you are wearing.
While this workaround might not be very comfortable or attractive, at least it will mean that friends will be able to watch 3D TVs from different manufacturers without having to shell out for new glasses.
